If your nonprofit is struggling to meet its goals because of inadequate resources, I can help you navigate the challenges you are facing. Flourish Nonprofit Development LLC is based in Duluth, Minnesota and can support nonprofits here and around the state. I have expertise in building internal systems, grant writing and management, communications, and more. I am not looking to make your organization reliant on my services; I want you to learn and become self-sufficient in the areas that challenge you.
Development Planning
Do you feel like there is never enough money? Do deadlines come out of nowhere? Are you unsure of how to develop a budget with targets that you can actually meet? If the answer to any of these is yes, then this service is for you. We can build a plan and implementation systems together so that you can be successful.
Grant Writing and Management
I can write a grant proposal or multiple proposals for you, develop a grants calendar for the year, put together some boilerplate that you can use as you build your own proposals, or find you a few new prospects. If you are lacking time or expertise on your staff to pursue the opportunities that are a fit, I can help with all of your grant-related needs.
Interim Development Staffing
Is your development director or grant writer leaving for a new position and you haven't hired yet? I can pick up where they leave off to ensure a smooth transition with no missed deadlines or donor meetings. Do you need support to hire someone who is qualified or train a current staff to take on a new development role? I can provide resources and support.
Communications
If you want to incorporate communications into your campaign plans or establish a donor newsletter, I can help with this. I can also build a simple website, refresh the copy on your current site, or set up online giving on your current site. For more complex needs, I am happy to refer you to others who do great work.

About Flourish Nonprofit Development LLC
Katherine Mueller began consulting with nonprofits in 2007 after several years of working as a staff grant writer for a small organization. She volunteered to set up a grants plan and write some boilerplate for a start-up nonprofit. When she tried to leave the role, the executive director of the organization said, "Wait, we'll pay you." Since then, Katherine has accepted business by word of mouth, and in 2020 launched Flourish Nonprofit Development LLC.
Katherine has a BA in English and Philosophy from Albion College and nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit resource development, communications, and financial management. She has worked with nonprofits that provide children's and youth services, employment training, housing, education, basic needs, environmental programs, and more. These include established nonprofits as well as start-ups,
private foundations, and intermediary organizations. She has also served as a grant reviewer for numerous government and private entities.
